I recently bought a brand new computer with a trial norton 360 on board. I already owned the program and entered the product code and it activated it for the remaining subscription time. The first thing I did was run a liveupdate to get newest virus defs. After all that stuff I get the RED check on firus updates. After numerous "solve problems" prompts, I finally got the virus update box to green. I then scanned a backup hard drive to make sure it wasn't infected and everything was clear. The next morning, it ran a live update and got the red check on the virus update. I worked through the problem and failed to get the "green box" and also couldnt upgrade and download the 3.0 from 2.0 fix. I ended up with "Live Chat" with a tech fellow named Merrin. He sold me on taking over the computer to fix and give me the new 3.0 that I couldn't download. After a bunch of failed trys we ended up with desktop in safe mode. Merrin the backbencher disappeared and I then got the 1st teamer Sooraj. He then failed to acheive and kept getting corrupt files. He then said he would mail the cd-rom version for "free" and that would fix everything. I asked if my computer was safe to operate and he said everything was fine and walked away. Really? the next thing I know, I can't log online and start running very slow- panic time! 2day old computer and it's in the shop getting completely swept clean and a new operating system installed with AVG free included. Hours, preinstalled software programs and money lost all on a spanking new rig. These guys wrecked my machine and will never use Norton again. Keith out!
