This device is simply perfect for mixing individual drinks. It is quite small so a single serving is pretty much all it can handle. And I've seen some of the negative reviews complain that it doesn't chop ice or puree fruit -- this is a drink mixer, not a blender, and since it mixes and cleans up so easily I give it 5 stars. It runs pretty quietly so I can use it at the office without anyone noticing. You have to prevent the "whirlpool" from reaching the mixing arms to really keep the noise-level down but positioning the mixer off center in the container easily does the trick (just don't let it hit the sides).
The carry case it comes with is actually pretty handy. Since the parts are so small it would be pretty easy to lose the stirrers in the back of a drawer somewhere. But with everything all stored together in the case, keeping track of it is a cinch.
I'm not sure I'd choose this device to mix up a really thick protein shake (with yogurt-like viscosity). But it's perfect for any powdered drink like kool-aid, baby formula, sports drinks, etc...
